Intuition, sometimes called the sixth sense, can be both a faithful helper in life and a very bad advisor. There are many tips on how to trust your intuition, but should you always do it?
According to the dictionary definition, intuition is an irrational way of comprehending the truth. By "irrational" is meant a way of searching for the truth, which is not based on the analysis of available data, but is based on premonitions, imagination, and the ability to foresee. However, to a large extent, intuitive thinking relies on experience and knowledge, so it cannot be treated as something ephemeral and unnecessary. After all, many famous scientific discoveries have been made through intuition. Among such discoveries, for example, is the discovery of the periodic law by Dmitry Mendeleev.
Intuitively made decisions can be correct to the same extent as rational ones, but if analytical thinking needs to build causal relationships, generalize and understand the available data, then intuition allows you to avoid this kind of reasoning. From the outside, it may seem that intuitive thinking is making decisions at random, but in fact, a person with developed intuition does no less mental work than an analyst, it's just that most of this mental activity occurs at a subconscious level.
As for whether it is worth trusting your intuition unconditionally, the answer to this question largely depends on your type of thinking. If you like to come to the truth through reasoning and evidence, then, trying to completely trust your intuition, you will most likely be wrong, and even experience a certain stress from making a choice that contradicts your logic.
On the other hand, if you made decisions without thinking, as a rule, turn out to be the most correct and correct, then intuitive thinking should be developed and used as often as possible, trying to trust it. However, it should be borne in mind that since intuition is to a large extent the result of a subconscious analysis of accumulated experience, you should not recklessly make intuitive decisions regarding phenomena and areas of life unknown to you.
You can develop intuition through various trainings, as well as gaining experience in various fields of activity. Unfortunately, most of these trainings are more like exercises for the development of a positive outlook on the world and the formation of "visionary abilities". To a large extent, such trainings are just self-hypnosis sessions that have little to do with intuitive thinking.
Strictly speaking, the only scientifically proven way to develop intuitive thinking is to increase the amount of accumulated experience and knowledge, so if you want to develop intuition in yourself, then it is worth studying new information in the areas of your life that are of interest to you.
