The best food for a nursing baby is breast milk. Thanks to its optimal composition, the baby grows and develops in the best possible way. But if the mother cannot breastfeed him - milk has disappeared or because of illness, breast milk has to be replaced with something. Now it is being replaced by powdered milk mixtures, and earlier, cow or goat milk came to replace it. The question: how to give milk to infants, mothers still worry.
Necessary
- 1) goat or cow milk;
- 2) water.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose milk from the market carefully. Buy only tested milk from a trusted seller. Goat is considered the best, since it contains three times more amino acids than cow, it does not cause allergic reactions, and it is also easier to digest.
Step 2
Smell the milk, fresh goat milk has no unpleasant smell. If there is a smell, it means that the hostess washed the udder of the goat badly. The kid may refuse to drink it. Milk utensils must also be boiled and free of foreign odors so that it does not turn sour.
Step 3
Give your child milk only boiled and diluted with water. If you start accustoming your baby to milk up to a year (at the age of 8-9 months - not earlier), dilute it at least half with water. Gradually, as the child grows up, reduce the amount of water added to the milk. do this for up to 2 years.
Step 4
Cook porridge for the baby in milk. To do this, also dilute it with water. The milk consumption rate for a child from 1 to 2 years old is 0.5 liters per day. Do not exceed it, this will make the baby's digestive system and kidneys work hard, which can lead to illness, especially before the age of 1 year.
Step 5
When switching to goat or cow's milk, give your child vitamins E and D, as they are lacking in such food.
Also, prevent anemia by adding meat and grains to your food, since the consumption of cow's milk during infancy leads to a loss of iron in the body.
