Find the middle of your menstrual cycle. To do this, count how many days pass from the first day of one period to the beginning of the next. Most often, the cycle is 28 days. As a result of ovulation, an egg is released. There are two ways to determine the day of its onset at home: using an ovulation test and measuring basal temperature. For a more accurate result, it is better to use two methods at once.
Buy ovulation tests from your pharmacy. Usually, one package contains 5-7 test strips, which is enough to determine the day of egg release in one menstrual cycle. To obtain reliable results, a woman should conduct a urine test for several days of the cycle at the same time. On the day your LH hormone levels are highest, your ovulation test will be positive. It is on this day that the release of the egg will occur and ovulation will occur. Read the instructions before using the ovulation test. Measure your basal temperature. To do this, every morning, starting from the 7th day of the menstrual cycle, measure your rectal temperature. You need to do this at the same time after waking up, before you get out of bed. The basal temperature on the days before ovulation is 36, 3-36, 6 degrees, after the release of the egg - 36, 8-37, 2 degrees. The day before ovulation, the temperature reaches its minimum at about 36.2 degrees, and the next day it rises sharply by 0.25-0.5 degrees. This jump marks the start of ovulation.
Step 3
Identify the best days for pregnancy. The released egg cell lives for 2-3 days, and only during this period can fertilization take place. If intercourse occurs on these days, then the likelihood of pregnancy is maximum. However, if intimacy occurs a few days before ovulation, conception can also happen. This is due to the fact that sperm are able to survive in a woman's body for up to 7-10 days.
