Being a parent is troublesome, so adults do not have time to stop and think about how easy it is for their children. Hasn't there ever been a situation when many years ago you swallowed resentment and promised yourself that you would not unnecessarily hurt your own children? But time has passed, and in the heap of worries you forget that the child is a small person, albeit a small one.

Your child will face many difficulties in life, so do not add troubles to him that are easy to avoid.

1. Think what you are saying.

  • You come to visit, and the kid, stroking the owner's cat, happily says: "Grandpa says that cats are of no use - they just eat, but we don't have mice anyway!" Later you will reproach him for incontinence, not thinking that you yourself are sinning like that.
  • It is unpleasant for your child when you tell your friends that in moments of intense excitement he may not reach the toilet, and the stories that offend his dignity (“Imagine, he is so afraid of ordinary caterpillars - squeals like a girl!”) Cannot be considered appropriate.
  • In second place for tactlessness are stories of childbirth, accompanied by emotional descriptions of how you "almost died" of terrible pain. They do not embarrass the baby, but they make them feel guilty for causing their mom to be in trouble.
  • Children do not make claims about parental incontinence, but imagine yourself in the child's place and think about whether your behavior can be considered correct.

2. Be consistent.

  • No one is more conservative than children settling in an unfamiliar world. They do not mind that the day passes according to the same scenario with strict adherence to the time of walks, games, swimming. Your child is able to listen to the same fairy tale every day or watch your favorite cartoon!
  • From the confusion in educational methods, the child's head is spinning no less than from violations in the daily routine. The requirements should not change: if you convince the kid how to fight, then do not blame him for not giving back to the offender. Clarify all points so that the child does not feel confused.
  • Educational techniques should be the same for all family members. If grandma says one thing, dad says something else, and mom says something else, the baby doesn't know who to listen to!

3. Don't be a hypocrite.

  • Consider if you are setting a bad example. Sometimes dad says that you can't cross the road at a red light, but at times he says: "There are no cars, let's go!" Or a mother, having politely talked to a neighbor, lets go of a sharp remark behind her back, and then scolds the baby for being rude towards others.
  • Of course, you do not teach children to cheat or play a lie, but your words are at odds with your deeds. For yourself, you find extenuating circumstances, but when the child tries to justify his mistake, you demand: "Don't bother, have the courage to be responsible for your actions!"
  • But the kid is embarrassed for the double standards of adults. To save him from unpleasant experiences, try to look at yourself from the outside more often and be empathetic, loving and sympathetic parents.
