Small children spend quite a long time during the day in a stroller, but the manufacturer does not always fully equip the baby with a comfortable place to sit and sleep.
You should not torment the child, you can make the stroller as comfortable as possible by sewing a cozy mattress according to certain dimensions. To do this, use foam rubber sheets, fabric, thermal fiber, scissors, threads, a sewing machine, a ruler, tailor's needles.
Mattress manufacturing technology
It is preferable to wash the fabric and foam rubber before starting work, and the fabric after drying must also be ironed. Then you can start measuring the internal space of the stroller, for this you need to determine the length and width of the bottom of the structure, which will limit the dimensions of the mattress. Its thickness will depend on the thickness of the foam rubber. In the example, a mattress will be considered, the dimensions of which are 74x34x2 cm.
On the foam rubber, you should depict, and then cut out a figure with sides equal to 74x34 cm. A pair of equal rectangles should be formed from the fabric, the width of each will be determined based on the width of the foam rubber, to which you should add its height and another 2 cm, which will be used for the seams. Using the same technology, the length of the product should be calculated. In the example, such rectangles will be equal to the dimensions of 78x38 cm.
Sewing work
The resulting fabric blanks must be folded, facing each other, then 3 sides can be sewn. Then the cover must be turned out, and then you can insert the foam rubber into its inner space. After the edge, you need to wrap it inward, pinning them with pins. The next step is zigzag stitching. At this, the work can be considered completed, this suggests that the fruit of needlework can be tried on by putting it in a stroller.
As a supplement to the mattress, you can also make a pillow, this will make the baby's stay in the stroller comfortable, and the general view will not be disturbed by the use of a pillow made in a different style. Initially, it should be formed from fabric and thermofiber into a pair of rectangles, the dimensions of which are 30x22 cm. The product can be supplemented with ruffles, and for its manufacture, a strip with dimensions equal to 12x110 cm should be cut out of the fabric. The strip should be folded in half, forming folds.
The fringe must be attached to the seamy side of one rectangle. Then you can combine the layers of the pillow, securing them with needles, this will allow you to sew the product along the edge, leaving 10 cm to turn the pillow. Having turned out the product, you can tuck the edges inward, fix them, and then make a zigzag seam.
