All newly minted parents are wondering how to dress a newborn baby for a walk so that it does not freeze and overheat. Pediatricians believe that it is better to overcool the child than overheat. Parents need to try to keep the middle ground.

Step 1
First of all, we note that for a newborn, you need to purchase clothes only from natural fabrics. Pay attention to the fasteners and zippers, make sure that they do not chafe the delicate skin of the baby.
Step 2
In winter, it is better to walk with a newborn only at a temperature not lower than -10C. You need to dress the baby in a vest, sliders, a warm blouse, warm socks, in two hats - a thin and warm woolen one. There should also be two blankets - light and warm wadded or woolen. The child needs to be wrapped and tied with ribbons so that it does not swing open. A fur envelope for a stroller is very useful, but if it is not there, put a warm mattress in the stroller, and cover the baby with a light blanket on top.
Step 3
It is very convenient to use envelopes instead of a cotton blanket - semi-overalls with a hood, which you can buy in a store or sew yourself. The fabric should be warm on the lining - wadding or padding polyester (fur is also fine). Dress the child as described above, if necessary (depending on the temperature outside), wrap it in a light blanket, and then put it in an envelope. The hood is worn over a warm cap.
Step 4
When dressing a newborn at any other time of the year, try to choose clothes according to the temperature. For example, if outside the window is + 25C and above, you can dress the baby easily - in sliders and a light undershirt. The cap is only needed in windy weather. If the air temperature is below +25 - + 20C, a hat is required, you will need a thin blanket or lightweight semi-overalls.
Step 5
To find out if your baby is comfortable, touch his neck - it should be warm and dry. The nose may be cool even if the baby is not cold. If the baby is constantly crying on the street and cannot sleep, he may be uncomfortable and should be dressed differently. Remember that the main criterion for choosing the right clothes is the fact that the baby is sound asleep on the street, and when you undress him at home, his skin is dry.
