Most young mothers have a very vague idea of how often and, most importantly, how to bathe an infant. It seems to them that the baby can accidentally damage something or he runs the risk of catching a cold.
Instructions
Step 1
If the child is absolutely healthy, then bathe him daily, from the first days of life, without any fear. If there are signs of any colds, limit yourself to washing and rubbing a damp towel on your hands and face until it recovers. It is better to wash a baby up to a year using soap and shampoo not often: 1-2 times a week, limited, all the rest of the time, just with clean water.
Step 2
You can buy yourself a special baby bath for bathing, but in general, you can even bathe an infant in a shared bath if all household members are healthy and there are no cats and dogs in the apartment. The main thing is to be very careful so that water does not get into his respiratory system. The advantages of bathing in a large bathtub are that the baby can "swim", supported by you, receiving a kind of water massage and developing the motor skills of the limbs.
Step 3
Pre-wash the bathroom thoroughly with baby detergent and rinse thoroughly with hot water. The optimum water temperature should be 36-38 degrees.
Step 4
If the water in your area is too hard, add about 150 grams of starch (it must be dissolved in a separate container first). In the case when the water is not very clean, dissolve a little potassium permanganate in a jar until a slightly pink liquid is obtained.
Step 5
Bathe your baby at about the same time. The bathroom affects children in different ways: someone becomes more active, someone tends to sleep. In the first case, you can bathe the child during the day, in the second, it is better at night. The optimal time for bathing in infancy is 5-10 minutes.
Step 6
For bathing, firmly hold the child under the arm with one (preferably left) hand, supporting the head. Hold with one hand, lather with the other from top to bottom, and wash last.
Step 7
To prevent the baby from catching a cold, after bathing, dry it thoroughly with a terry towel or diaper. Gently clean your nose and ears with a cotton swab. Most importantly, never leave your baby alone in the bathroom, it is very dangerous!
