Not every mother succeeds in establishing breastfeeding, and then a bottle of infant formula comes to the rescue. At first, you may think that bottle feeding is much easier: you do not need to follow the diet of a nursing mother, and any adult family member can feed the baby in your absence, but it is not so simple. It is important to understand that artificial feeding of a baby implies no less responsibility, because now the baby will not receive fresh and sterile milk from your breast. The first six months of a baby's life will require sterilization of bottles by boiling or using a special electric sterilizer.

You can save money by purchasing a wonderful assistant - a steamer. It is easy to sterilize bottles, teats and pacifiers. And when your baby is older, you will use the steamer to cook vegetables for your baby's first food. Or maybe you already have a steamer, but did not know that bottles can be sterilized in it?
Step 3
The steamer can easily hold several standard or wide bottles. If the bottles are tall, you can remove the extra section of the steamer to free up space in the height. If the bottles fit into the bottom shelf in height, you can easily place pacifiers and nipples on top.
Step 4
First, thoroughly wash the bottles and nipples with a brush. You can use a special detergent for washing baby dishes. It is important that there are no traces of formula inside the bottles.

Pour water into the special compartment of the steamer. Place the bottles with the necks down on the bottom section of the steamer so that the steam can easily penetrate inside. Do not place bottles too tightly together.

5-7 minutes is enough time for sterilization. But you can increase the time to 10-12 minutes for your own peace of mind. At the end of the program, take out the bottles and place them in a clean container with boiling water. Cover the container with a lid or clean towel.
Step 7
In the same way, a manual breast pump, milk collection bags, teethers and other items can be sterilized in a double boiler.
Step 8
After a few months, it will be enough for you to simply pour boiling water over the bottle, and you will not regret the money wasted on the sterilizer. The steamer will become a faithful assistant in the preparation of delicious and healthy food.
