Children are usually taught to potty at the age of one. First you need to choose the pot itself, and this is not so easy. Modern manufacturers offer so many options that it won't take long to get confused.
Some children may refuse to use the potty when it comes time to teach them this useful skill. Moms get knocked off their feet in an effort to teach a child to do their own thing in a place specially designed for this. In some cases, the problem is solved after the uncomfortable pot is changed for the child.
What are nursery pots
Almost all modern models of pots are made of plastic - this material is perfectly washable. By type, they can be classic - the child sits on them, like on a chair, or in the form of a saddle, when the child's legs are separated by a ledge. The classic model is the simplest. The hole in such a pot is usually round, it is easy to sit on it and it is convenient to get up on it. In addition to this pot, you can purchase a special highchair with a cutout. The saddle pot has a special saddle-shaped curve, and there are protrusions in the front and back that help to sit more stable.
Pots in the form of toys are not welcomed by pediatricians. The child is more interested in the pot itself, and not what he sits on it for. Carried away by playing with the potty, the toddler quickly forgets how the thing should be used in practice.
Pots are musical - if moisture gets to the bottom, a melody is heard, notifying that the child has gone out of need.
There are special pots for travel - they consist of a plastic folding frame to which a plastic bag is attached. Bags sold separately. When assembled, the marching pot is flat and very easy to transport.
How to choose a pot for a child
When choosing, it is important to pay attention to the stability of the product. You also need to imagine in advance how convenient it will be to take out the pot - someone is more like a product with a handle for which the receiving container gets, someone will prefer a lid. The choice should be stopped in favor of a model that is both practical and convenient for the child. It should be remembered that the pot is by no means a toy.
The selected product must be kept clean and free from burrs and cracks. You should not use such a pot - in order to avoid injury to the child's skin.
For a girl, it is better to choose a round-shaped pot, devoid of protrusions on the front. This model will be more comfortable - you can sit with your legs folded. For a boy, an oval-shaped product is more convenient, with a back in the back and a ledge in front. So the baby will be able to sit up and spread the legs so that the urine does not fall on the floor, but where it should be. First, of course, parents will have to teach the child how to sit down on the potty and get up without turning it over.
