Surprisingly, the most complete and high-quality research on cheating was carried out by Durex, a world-renowned condom manufacturer. Perhaps this happened for the reason that large corporations are ready to invest huge amounts of money in researching their audience. Marketers anonymously interviewed a huge number of people, wanting to find out who would most likely need their products. After this study, condom advertising began to focus not only on men, but also on women, as it turned out that the latter are more likely to cheat on their husbands.

The survey was conducted among men and women who are married or have a regular partner. It turned out that among all men, about 30% are traitors, but among women, there are almost 40% of them. A characteristic fact is that among all female infidelities, about a third falls on experiments with representatives of their own sex, but among men, experimenters with homosexuality turned out to be much less, about 4-5%.

The survey also found that men think about sex ten times a day or more, but women usually remember about it no more than two or three times a day. The number of sexual acts in 35% of regular couples was 2-3 per week, approximately 10% have sex every day, and 25% have sex less often than once a month.

The results of the question of why people changed when such an event took place turned out to be very interesting. It turned out that women cheat for a variety of reasons: lack of understanding on the part of a partner, different views on important issues, different levels of culture, lack of material assistance, and others. But among men, the main reason for cheating was named almost unanimously: it is sexual attraction. Of course, attraction is also the cause of female infidelity, but to a much lesser extent.

Typically, wives cheat when they are dissatisfied with their relationship with their partner. If a man behaves rudely or inattentively, then the woman feels humiliated, her self-esteem suffers, there is a lack of attention and the need for it. Since women live by emotions to a much greater extent than men, they seek to compensate for the lack of positive emotions. But it often turns out that, wanting more emotional support, a woman is drawn into intimate relationships on the side.
