From the thirteenth week of pregnancy, the second trimester begins. This means that one third of the path has been passed, and also behind the most dangerous period of bearing a child, associated with implantation and formation of the placenta, when the greatest number of miscarriages occurs.
If the toxicosis in some women has not yet passed, then you should not be very upset, the long-awaited relief will soon come. But the 13th week of pregnancy is the time to bring up another delicate topic that can annoy you for all nine months. This is constipation, which is caused by weak intestinal motility.
Constipation is in itself an unpleasant phenomenon, because of them, other complications are possible, for example, hemorrhoids. At a later date, the growing uterus will also prevent the elimination of food debris, therefore, the intestines should be adjusted as early as possible.
To avoid constipation, you should eat more foods containing fiber, which, due to incomplete digestion, makes the intestines work. However, foods such as cabbage and beans that cause bloating should be avoided.
If constipation occurs, then a cup of chamomile tea or activated charcoal, products with laxative properties such as beets, prunes, honey, plums, wheat bran, and seaweed can relieve the condition. You should not resort to the help of medications and enemas, especially without the recommendations of the attending physician.
To prevent constipation by surprise, you need to move more: walk, visit the pool, do exercises.
At the thirteenth week, the rudiments of milk teeth are formed in the fetus. During this period, the intestine is located in the abdominal cavity and is covered with villi, which will play a significant role in digestion. The baby's pancreas begins to produce insulin, without which the assimilation of glucose is impossible. Fruit weight reaches 28 grams.
