Parents of a newborn baby should take care not only of all the official documents and place of registration for him, but also of the compulsory medical insurance policy (MHI), according to which the child will have the right to receive free medical care in state medical institutions throughout the Russian Federation and territories of states with which the Russian Federation has concluded agreements on health insurance.

Step 1
A compulsory health insurance policy for a child can be obtained at the place of permanent residence in an insurance medical organization.
Step 2
A policy is issued for a newborn only on the basis of a document on registration at the place of residence or stay. In the first case, a permanent policy is issued, and in the second, a temporary one. It will be renewed automatically upon renewal of registration at the place of stay.
Step 3
To get a policy for a newborn, you will need:
-statement;
-Certificate of the birth of the child, which is issued by the registry office within 30 days from the date of birth of the baby;
- passport of a parent who is registered at the address to which this policy issue point geographically belongs.
