There are a number of diseases that are an obstacle to motherhood, since we are talking not only about the risk to a woman's health, but also the possibility of serious pathologies of intrauterine development of the fetus.

Infectious diseases of the expectant mother can have an extremely negative effect on the health of the child. These include active forms of primary tuberculosis infection. The main indication for termination of pregnancy in the first trimester (up to 12 weeks) is a widespread destructive process in the lungs of a woman that does not respond to treatment if it took place and worsened during the previous pregnancy.
Step 2
Severe forms of viral hepatitis also pose a serious danger during pregnancy. With this disease, deaths in pregnant women are three times higher than in non-pregnant women. Infection is especially dangerous in the last trimester of pregnancy, when the risk of death of the mother increases many times. In the chronic form of viral hepatitis, the onset of pregnancy, as a rule, does not worsen the general condition of the woman. However, the risk of fetal infection is high, and it has not yet been proven that a cesarean section allows you to avoid infection of a child with viral hepatitis.
Step 3
Another terrible enemy of a pregnant woman is rubella. This infectious disease, which proceeds almost imperceptibly in children, can lead to spontaneous abortion or cause serious fetal malformations (microcephaly, meningitis, cataracts). In cases where a woman did not have rubella in childhood, she needs to be vaccinated and protected for six months after it.

Non-infectious diseases that pose a serious danger to a pregnant woman include: severe diseases of the endocrine system (including diabetes mellitus), severe heart disease and hypertension with circulatory system disorders, liver cirrhosis; serious lung disease with respiratory failure, kidney disease leading to chronic renal failure (glomerulonephritis); systemic connective tissue diseases (lupus erythematosus), severe mental illness and epilepsy.
Step 5
Any oncological diseases are a contraindication for pregnancy, since they may increase the growth of neoplasms. At the same time, with treatment started after 12 weeks, a positive trend is likely. In case of benign tumors, such as uterine fibroids, the doctor decides whether to preserve the pregnancy individually.
