Handmade wooden furniture will serve you for many years. The main thing in its manufacture is accuracy and adherence to instructions. Make a child's chair for your child - he will definitely be happy.
Necessary
boards 25-30 mm thick, thick paper 1x1 m, wood rasp, circular saw, pins, drill, metal corners 4 pcs, sanding paper, planer, foam rubber, furniture fabric, wood glue, grader, varnish, stain, construction stapler
Instructions
Step 1
Start making the rear legs. On paper, draw a drawing of the legs and back of the chair. To make it symmetrical, draw only half. Then apply tracing paper and use it to transfer the drawing to the second part. Next, cut out the paper template. Attach the template to the prepared planks and cut out the legs and backrest.
Step 2
Sand the cut parts. Clean the ends with a rasp, then with coarse sanding paper and then fine sanding paper. Make sure that all sides are perpendicular to each other.
Step 3
Drill the holes for the dowels with a drill. Measure the holes very precisely. To do this, drill it in one part, and then stick the dowel in there, attach the second part and press down. A round mark will remain from the dowel. This is where you need to drill. Assemble the legs and back with dowels, but do not glue it yet.
Step 4
Start cutting the back pattern if you plan to do one. Drill the holes first, and then insert the saw into them. Saw in such a direction that the grain of the wood does not come up. Treat the cuts with sandpaper and a graver.
Step 5
Make a template for the seat and front legs. Next, create a template, cut out the parts, process them, make holes for the dowels.
Step 6
Assemble the chair without glue. See if all the parts fit together normally, if there are right angles.
Step 7
If all the rules are followed, glue the chair. Grease the joints, pour glue into the holes for the dowels. After the glue dries, cover the product with a stain, let it dry thoroughly again and cover with furniture varnish.
Step 8
Start making a soft seat. To do this, take a plywood sheet. Saw out the part of the desired size from it. Cut out the foam using this template. To make a cover, attach a seat template to the fabric. Then step back 5 cm from the edges and cut. Assemble the seat. Place the foam on the plywood, the fabric on the foam. Flip it all over, fold the fabric over the plywood and shoot it with a furniture stapler. That's it, the baby chair is now complete.
