Modern mothers are increasingly abandoning drug treatment for colds in children. The period when aspirin and antibiotics were given for a cold was quickly over. And mothers return to the time-tested "grandmother's methods". One of which is to steam the feet of a child with a cold.

Necessary

Mustard (herbal tea, aromatic oil), deep basin, linen towel, warm water, rinsing jug, terry towel, cotton socks

Instructions

Step 1

It is very important to know that it is possible to soar a child's legs only if he does not have an increased body temperature. Otherwise, the child may develop a very strong fever, which will be difficult to fight. Legs soar when a child has a slight cold, this is especially true in the first days of the illness. If a child gets his feet wet on an autumn day or gets overcooled while walking, then a timely warm foot bath can prevent colds. The effect is achieved due to the fact that blood circulation is increased during the procedure. This increases the protective properties of the body.

Step 2

The most common way is to soar your feet in mustard. For this, a linen towel is placed at the bottom of a deep basin. Then water is poured, the temperature of which does not exceed 37 degrees. Add two tablespoons of mustard to the water. Now you can lower your legs. After the child gets used to it, add two or three more cups of water at a temperature of 40 degrees. You can keep your feet in a basin of mustard for no more than four minutes. If you keep it longer, then the heart will be stressed from overheating. Then rinse your feet, wipe dry with a terry towel and put on socks without synthetic impurities.

Step 3

Feet can also be soared with the addition of aromatic oils. For colds, use eucalyptus oil, fir or cedar oil. The procedure is the same as using mustard. Only three to four drops of oil are added to a basin of water. It is more traditional to soar your feet in a decoction of herbs. For this, sage infusion or cold coughs are suitable. Such baths also combine inhalation. Vapors of herbs or oils make breathing easier, relieve swelling of the nose.

Step 4

You can soar your feet up to three times a day. It is better to do this before bedtime. If this is not possible, make sure that the child does not run immediately after the procedure, but lies for about ten minutes under a blanket.
