Children really like homemade toys, and in the household of a mother-needlewoman there is always something to sew a doll or a bear from. The flat bear cub will bring considerable benefit to your baby, and it can be done in literally an hour. If you have curly scissors and thick fabric, you can do it much faster.
Necessary
- - dense fabric;
- - buttons;
- - shreds;
- - threads for embroidery;
- - scissors;
- - a piece of chalk;
- - blade;
- - a machine with an overlock;
- - buttons or beads.
Instructions
Step 1
Start making such a toy with a pattern. It's very simple. The bear's head is a circle, to which 2 small semicircles are attached - ears. The body is an oval. The legs can also be in the form of ovals, but if desired, they can be made bent. Draw the head with a compass, but you can also circle some round object. A torso pattern can be done by circling the baby's tub or something like that. However, very nice toys are also made from patterns drawn by eye. In any case, you need a circle, 1 large wide oval, 4 smaller long ovals, and 2 small semicircles. By the way, the details of the bear can not only be sewn, but also knitted.
Step 2
If the fabric is thick enough, simply transfer the details onto it and cut it out. The bear cub will appear fluffy if cut with curly scissors. Loose fabrics are best overlocked or hand-sewn with a buttonhole. If you only have a thin one-sided fabric at hand, it is better to make the bear two-layer, and even duplicate it with non-woven fabric or make a pad of padding polyester. In the first case, first duplicate the details, then fold them with the right sides, sew along the contour, leaving small holes. Turn out the head, torso, legs and ears and iron. Close the holes with a blind seam. When making a product with a gasket, baste the synthetic winterizer to the wrong side of one of the parts, apply a second blank to match the front sides, stitch and turn it out. Patch the holes.
Step 3
Outline the eyes, nose and mouth. They are best embroidered, especially if you are making a toy for a younger preschooler. He can simply bite off a button or bead, which is unsafe. Satin stitch embroidery is most suitable.
Step 4
Mark the places for the buttons. Do not forget that the legs are fastened to the body, and not the body to the legs, that is, the buttons should be on a large oval, including the one to which the head will be fastened. Ears are attached to the head. Cut through the loops. It is convenient to do this with a regular shaving blade. If you have a thick drape, you do not need to overcast the loops.
