Of course, every loving parent has asked a similar question. Are we too harsh with our own children? Or maybe, on the contrary, we are completely softened and the child got out of hand? In any case, the baby's behavior is a direct result of parental actions or inaction. Let's try to figure out: in what cases it is worth punishing a child, and where it is enough to simply have a preventive conversation.

First of all, for every child's misconduct, before any reaction, it is worth determining the presence of real guilt and its depth. Is it your fault in the child's act? Be honest and don't hold your child accountable for someone else's actions. If, nevertheless, there is a result of your child's wrong thinking, you should calmly discuss with him the presence of disagreements between his and your view of the problem. More often than not, having an honest and serious conversation with your child is enough. In any kind of punishment, be guided only by love for the baby, show that all your actions are aimed at his good. In educational dialogue, adhere to the following rules:

- do not get personal, discuss only the phenomenon and your emotional reaction to it, - take an interest in the child's view of the situation and show respect for him,

- give the child time to reflect on what happened, - Be sure to start the conversation with a declaration of love.

However, if the child's bad deed is a real crime against the basic rules of your family's existence, you should not give slack and it is necessary to suppress such events in the bud. Be restrained and explain to the kid exactly what you think he was wrong about. After that, say out loud the punishment you are assigning to him and, most importantly, tell what result all this is happening for. The child must be aware from beginning to end of the entire educational process. With your help, it will be clear to him why and why he deserves punishment. The most important thing is that the baby understands how to behave and such situations do not arise again.

Remember that punishment is a rare technique for really serious child behavior problems. If you start to abuse this parenting method, then pretty soon it will lose its effectiveness and you, in turn, will lose control over the child. Apply your worldly wisdom carefully so that the child, on reflection, can himself agree with your innocence.
