In the modern world, children have many toys. They love to play with them and throw them everywhere. Clutter at home becomes a real problem for parents. How can you teach a child to clean up after themselves toys? At what age can you teach your baby to be neat and clean?
All children are different: some sit quietly and play, others constantly run and throw everything away. Everyone with small children has a mess in the house. Children don't care if the toys are neat or scattered throughout the room. Their parents are worried about the order. So, how can you teach your child to be in order and teach you how to clean up after yourself toys.
It is necessary to start teaching children to order from an early age. Almost all children at 2-3 years old repeat after their mother: they try to sweep the floor with a broom, climb on a chair and tinker in the water, wash a plate or a cup. You must not miss this moment and let him help you. Don't scold or shout. Encourage this form of play.
To begin with, it is necessary that the basic principles are observed:
- You must follow the order yourself. Children learn easily from the examples of adults, copy their behavior. If you yourself are not cleaning the house, then you should not demand this from your child.
- Calmness. Approach the cleaning process calmly, do not be nervous, do not complain or shout. Do not swear that toys are scattered again, and things are not in their places. Thus, the child will not have negative emotions in cleaning.
- Help. Help each other with household chores. If dad helps mom clean up on weekends, vacuums the floor, takes out the trash, then the child will not be left out, he will want to participate and help in cleaning. If mom is cleaning, and dad is watching TV or sitting at the computer at this time, then most likely the child, especially the boy, will copy the behavior of the dad.
Upbringing is a joint work of both parents. Therefore, not only mothers, but also fathers should be taught to order. So let's move on to the basic rules:
- Remove all unnecessary. Hide any toys that your little one is not playing with and leave only those that are interesting to him.
- Motivation. Start cleaning in the form of a game. For example, who will collect the toys faster and more and put them in place. Or imagine that you are in a fairy tale - you and your baby have turned into fairy heroes: elves and wizards, and toys are naughty gnomes who need to be sent home. Decorate toy boxes in the form of houses, paint and decorate them.
- Praise. Be sure to praise the child for the work done: "What a fine fellow, he helped his mother, removed all the toys." Many children enjoy being praised and told to others. For example, when dad comes home from work, you can praise dad.
