It is pleasant not only to dress your child in beautiful and fashionable things, but also to create designer clothes for the baby with your own hands. It is not only fun, but also quite economical. One of the most difficult stages in the process of sewing a children's shirt is creating a pattern. There are several cut options, and the tailoring is the same in all cases.

It is necessary

  • - material;
  • - lining material;
  • - pattern of details of children's shirt;
  • - a needle;
  • - threads;
  • - scissors;
  • - sewing machine;
  • - buttons;
  • - accessories for decoration.

Instructions

Step 1

Use an old kid's shirt as a base as a pattern. Pull it apart at the seams and get ready-made parts along which you can cut new material. Overlock the edges of the cut parts of the new shirt with an overlock or other type of stitch intended for overcasting.

Step 2

Second option. Cut out the shirt for the child according to the finished pattern. You can use ready-made patterns, patterns presented in specialized magazines for cutting and sewing, or you can make a pattern yourself. When using any of these methods, do not forget to leave two centimeters in stock for sewing allowances when cutting. Cut the product in the direction of the share thread. Having cut the material, proceed to sewing.

Step 3

Fold over the sewing allowance on the wrong side of the shirt and sweep. Prepare the cut out yokes. Sweep two soft folds around the top of the shirt. Sew the yokes to the back of the shirt with a set-in seam. Put the shelves on the face of the lower yoke with the front side and sew. Bend the cut of the upper yoke and sew to the edge.

Step 4

Prepare padded collars. Sew the top and bottom collars, and press the seam. Baste the gasket to the upper collar, sew the upper and lower collar parts, cut the corners, twist, iron, and then stitch.

Step 5

Prepare a rack with a spacer. Put the bottom collar on the face of the top collar, and put the bottom collar on the face of the top collar. Baste and sew without finishing the strut down to the width of the seam allowance.

Step 6

On the wrong side of the shirt, place the bottom stand with the right side, aligning the midpoints. Fold the free edge of the lower stand and sew to the edge.

Step 7

Finish the bottom of the sleeves. If the sleeve is sewn into a closed armhole, then its lower seam is sewn together, and the shoulder area is assembled into two machine lines. If the sleeve is sewn into an open armhole, the side seam of the shirt and the bottom seam of the sleeve are not sewn. The shoulder area of the sleeve is collected in two lines, combining the middle of the sleeve with the shoulder line, the sleeve is swept and sewn in. The sections are processed together, and then the bottom seam of the sleeve and the side seam of the shirt are sewn together. Do the same on the other side of the shirt, sew the sides of the product.

Step 8

Sew and cut buttonholes. Sew on the buttons. If you wish, you can decorate the product with stickers, patches or embroidery. Iron the items. The shirt is ready.
