It is necessary

Hot water or oil or alcohol. Gauze folded in several layers, waxed or baking paper, cotton wool, fixing a bandage

Instructions

Step 1

Compresses are prescribed for sore throat or otitis media in addition to the main treatment. There is a compress water, alcohol and oil. The purpose is the same for everyone: to warm up the inflamed area. Take a cheesecloth folded in several layers. Its size should be slightly larger than the area on which the compress will be applied. If gauze is not available, cotton cloth will do. It is important that the fabric is free from synthetic impurities. When making a compress on your ear, make a slit for your ear. Wax paper is placed on the gauze. Baking paper will work as well. The next layer after the paper is cotton wool to enhance the heat. The compress is fixed with a handkerchief, flannel diaper or scarf. The fixation bandage should also be made only from natural materials.

Step 2

The water compress is the simplest. It works due to the high temperature of the water. In order for the effect of the compress to be more effective, water can be replaced with a decoction of herbs. The period of action of the water compress is the shortest. It heats until the cloth soaked in water or broth has cooled down. To prepare a water compress, soak gauze in water and squeeze well.

Step 3

Longer lasting effect of the alcohol compress. Its action is two to three hours. During this time, the alcohol evaporates, warming the sore spot. Dilute the alcohol with water: one part of the alcohol should be at least four parts of water. Otherwise, there is a risk of burning the baby's delicate skin. Alcohol gives off heat when mixed with water. Therefore, the napkin must be moistened with the solution immediately after its preparation and applied immediately.

Step 4

The oil compress keeps warm for the longest. Camphor oil is used for it. Or it is replaced with vegetable oil, to which aromatic oil can be added. The oil is heated in a water bath to a temperature of 38-39 degrees. The downside of such a compress is that the oil stains the hair. And camphor has a specific smell that children do not like.

Step 5

The compress is applied to the child twice a day. Once in the morning, the second at night. A child can sleep with a compress all night long if it does not bother him. If after the compress the skin turns red, lubricate it with baby cream.
