There is an assumption that girls most often look like dad, and boys look like mom, geneticists consider this assumption and only half confirm it. In fact, boys are similar to mothers, as they inherit one X chromosome from their mother - a chromosome rich in genes that are responsible for appearance: the oval of the face, the shape of the eyebrows and lips, the shape of the eyes, skin color, etc. Y - the father's Y chromosome is poor in genes that are responsible for facial features. The situation in girls is different, they receive one X chromosome from both parents, and therefore they can look like both father and mother.
Necessary
- - mom
- - dad
- - child
Instructions
Step 1
It is almost impossible to predict the color of the eyes, since the genes are recessive, "weak" and dominant. The gene for brown-eyed is dominant, blue-eyed is recessive. In the case when a child receives a brown-eyed gene from one of the parents, and a blue-eyed gene from the other, the child's eyes will be brown. But it is simply impossible to guess which of these genes the child will get, because the parents have both the brown-eyed gene and the blue-eyed gene. Indeed, behind brown-eyed, for example, a dad may have a blue-eyed gene. But still the most elementary regularity can be traced. It makes no sense for parents with dark eyes to wait for children with blue eyes; brown-eyed ones with a shade of hazel or honey may have children with light eyes, but in most cases they are still brown-eyed. Blue-eyed and gray-eyed parents get children with the same color.
Step 2
A recessive sign is both blue eye color and blonde hair. If the parents have blond hair, then the child will be born with blond hair. And if one of the parents has dark hair, then the future child is hair color or an average between the hair color of both parents. Curly hair is the dominant sign, if one of the parents is curly, then the future baby will be curly. But it should be borne in mind that the children of the Slavs are blond in childhood, and by the age of 10, the color takes on a different shade.
Step 3
But the nose and ears are more likely to resemble one of the parents. If the nose is large with a hump, then the child will definitely have it, because such a nose is dominant. The child can inherit both a dimple on the chin and big daddy's or mom's ears.
