Often, frequent colds, poor appetite, pallor and drowsiness in a child are a sign of anemia - a condition of the blood in which there is a change in its quantitative composition towards a decrease in erythrocytes (red blood cells) in it. Anemia is the most common disease among children of all ages and does a lot of harm to the growing body, therefore it requires treatment and prevention.
Instructions
Step 1
Treating anemia can be beneficial if the cause is identified. Its most common culprits are helminths (worms), insufficient intake of iron from food or impaired absorption of iron in the intestine, deficiency of vitamins and minerals necessary for the successful absorption of iron, infectious diseases, and some blood diseases.
Step 2
Children with anemia often suffer from lack of appetite, so they are shown long walks in the park area. The saturation of such places with oxygen contributes to the enrichment of blood and improves appetite. For the youngest children, not only walks are useful, but also sleeping in the fresh air.
Step 3
A balanced diet is important in treating anemia. It should be rich in iron, as well as vitamins and minerals to aid its absorption. These include vitamins C, B6, B12, folic acid. Their main sources are raw vegetables and fruits, so they are necessary in the daily menu in the form of juices and purees. For infants with signs of anemia, early introduction of these dishes is recommended (fruit juices from 3 weeks, fruit purees from 1, 5–2 months, vegetable purees from 3 and a half months).
Step 4
Nutrition for anemia should be varied and complete. The diet must include pureed liver, fish, buckwheat, eggs, milk, gray bread croutons, legumes, herbs, cereals.
Step 5
For the treatment of anemia, aloe syrup with iron is useful (15 - 20 drops 3 times a day for children under one year old; ½ -1 teaspoon 3 times a day for children over one year old).
Step 6
Treatment of anemia with iron preparations or hemostimulin can only be done with a doctor's prescription, since anemia has different forms of course and is not always accompanied by iron deficiency. For some types of anemia, treatment with folic acid and vitamin B12 is sufficient, which should also be taken after a doctor's appointment. Without prescribing, you can take prophylactic doses of ascorbic acid.
