The Moscow Metro is the world leader in many positions. The project for its construction was created back in 1901, but the first 13 stations were opened only in 1935. The Moscow metro, like the British, was used as a bomb shelter, and its construction during the war did not stop for a single day.
In terms of the number of people transported during the year, the metro of the capital of Russia bypassed other metros in the world. Its services are used by 3.2 billion passengers a year. The length of its lines is 285 km.
The speed of movement of Moscow trains is also the highest in the world: in some sections it can reach 120 km / h.
