A room for a newborn should be prepared before the mother and child return from the hospital. In the first months of life, the baby, first of all, needs warmth, cleanliness and fresh air.

Step 1
Choose a suitable room for your nursery. First of all, pay attention to the floor, walls and windows. It is advisable to do wet cleaning in the newborn's room every day. Therefore, it is best to cover the floor in the children's room with parquet or laminate. On the one hand, it can be washed often, on the other, such a floor will be warm enough for the baby to crawl on it after a while. It is not recommended to put a nap carpet in the nursery, as it collects dust. In the future, so that the child can play on the floor, you can use special children's development rugs that can be washed, or rubber or polyurethane foam coverings.

The nursery should not be too bright, so that the child's nervous system is not overstrained. It is best to cover the walls with washable pastel paint.

Check if the windows in the children's room are tightly closed. There should be no cracks so that a draft is not created. A mosquito net should be installed on the window and curtains should be hung if the window faces the sunny side of the house.

Think about what furniture you plan to use after the baby is born. If you are going to put your baby for a night's sleep in an adult bed, and during the day rocking him in a stroller on the balcony, then in the first year a crib may not be useful to you. If you want your baby to get used to sleeping separately from the first days, choose a bed with a dropping bottom or a removable wall so that the child can sleep in this bed up to 3 years old. It is better to choose a mattress of medium firmness. Thanks to the sides and the canopy, the crib looks cozy, but a lot of dust collects on them. Therefore, if you do not plan to wash them several times a week, you should refuse such decoration.

The changing table is convenient for changing your baby's clothes in the first months of life, as well as for giving him a massage. However, these manipulations can be carried out on any table or adult bed with a hard mattress. A chest of drawers is also optional. You can buy a wardrobe in the nursery, which will fit the entire wardrobe of the crumbs, as well as the accessories necessary for caring for it.

Get a night light. Most toddlers wake up at night to eat. A bright light can wake up a child completely. Therefore, it is better to turn on dim lights and feed the baby half asleep.
Step 7
Mobiles, rattles and other toys are not useful in the first 2-3 months of a child's life. You can buy them at any time in any children's store, so there is no need to purchase them in advance.

Take care of the place for an adult too. Most babies cry in their first year if they don't see their parents, so you will spend a lot of time in the nursery. Prepare for yourself a comfortable chair in which you can comfortably feed your baby.
