Three-wheeled strollers impress not only with their creative design, but also with their maneuverability. They seem to be created for the difficult climatic conditions of Russia. But the choice of such strollers should be taken very carefully so that the baby and mother are comfortable and comfortable.
Instructions
Step 1
When choosing a three-wheeled stroller, first of all evaluate its maneuverability. The presence of one wheel in front does not guarantee good obstacle clearance. Sometimes it is this wheel that becomes the main inconvenience of the stroller. First, it doesn't have to be very small. After all, the main load falls on it, it is the leading one. With a small diameter of the front wheel, it will be difficult to drive onto the curb - the stroller will have to be turned around. And the ergonomics of the stroller will suffer - in it the baby will be shaken too much on an uneven road. Ideally, the front wheel should be large in diameter (from 29cm) and wide or have a double pair of wheels ("Baby Jogger"). This option will provide the wheelchair with good stability, protect it from roll and overturning when passing irregularities.
Step 2
Explore the features and functions of the front wheel. If the wheel is 360 degree swivel, there must be a locking function for this option. Disabling the swivel wheel will come in handy in the winter, when you have to roll the stroller on the road uncleaned from snow. In the fixed straight position of the wheel, it will be easier to drive over a difficult area. If you hit an obstacle (a curb, a piece of ice, etc.), the wheel will turn sideways, and you will have to lift the stroller in order to drive further. By the way, inflatable ("Bumbleride") or replaceable wheels of increased diameter ("Hartan") can be a good solution for winter. The rear wheels on tricycles must have a reinforced shock absorption system that absorbs bumps.
Step 3
Pay close attention to the weight of the stroller. The optimal weight is considered to be up to 15 kg ("Teutonia"). The lightness of the wheelchair is provided by an aluminum chassis. It should be easy and convenient for you to drive onto the curb. And to do this, you must forcefully lift the front wheel over it and roll the stroller onto it on almost two rear wheels. If at the same time the wheelchair is heavy for you, this maneuver will turn into a whole show - the wheelchair will have to be turned around, rolled up, then turned around again in the direction of travel.
Step 4
When buying a stroller for a newborn, it is better to take a carrycot. In it, even on such a "sports" stroller, the baby will sleep comfortably. After all, the cradle has an anatomical bottom, protected from noise, sunlight and drafts. When transferring your baby to a stroller, give preference to one that has a roomy seat and a large sun shade. The backrest should recline in several positions. Three-wheeled carriages are folded according to the "book" system. It is advisable that you can do this procedure with one hand.
