Step 1
Today, parents have the opportunity to significantly reduce the time required to register a child in an apartment. You can submit documents to the FMS via the Internet. To do this, you must have an account on the public services website.
Step 2
You can apply for registration immediately after receiving a birth certificate (the details of this document will be required when filling out applications). Parents have a month to obtain a birth certificate, otherwise they will have to pay a fine.
Step 3
To start registration, go to the Public Services Portal in the section "Federal Migration Service" - "Registration at the place of residence". Click the blue "Get a Service" button.
Step 4
Start filling out the registration form. In the "Type of applicant" section, check the box "I am the legal representative of a minor." Further - who do you match the child: mother or father.
Step 5
Fill in your personal information: full name, date of birth, gender, contact address and telephone number. Next, you need to specify the passport data (series and number of the document, date of issue, department code and when issued).
Step 6
In the section personal data of the recipient of the service, information about the child is indicated (you can specify your phone number and mail). Fill in the details of the birth certificate.
Step 7
Answer the questions regarding the existence of permanent registration and deregistration at the previous place of residence. Fill in the address where the child will be registered.

Choose the type of housing stock: state, municipal or private property, as well as the basis for your residence. This can be a certificate of ownership, a social loan agreement, a court decision or other grounds.
Step 9
Indicate if the child has another citizenship. The questionnaire requires additional information about the child: the main reason for resettlement (arrival to the parents), availability of work (did not work), social security (did not have), education (no education), married status (not married, not married).
Step 10
Select a department for filing original documents. You just have to give your consent to the processing of personal data and click the blue "Send" button.
Step 11
The website of state services only allows you to submit documents to the FMS, but the personal presence of the parents will be required to register the child. However, thanks to the portal, it will be possible to come to the registration authority at the appointed time and proceed with registration of registration without a queue. You will receive a notice of invitation to an appointment with the indication of the place and time by phone or by e-mail.

If the parents live together, then any of them can draw up the documents. If the father and mother of the child are registered in different places, then the personal presence of both will be required when registering with the FMS. One of them will need to write their consent for the child to live together with the mother (father).
