Summer is coming, which means more warmth and sunshine. Children's sunglasses will help make walks on a clear day more comfortable and reliably protect your child's eyes.
They are especially useful when walking on a scooter or bicycle, because they can protect your eyes from the reflected sunlight, and therefore increase the safety of your child.
When choosing children's sunglasses from the sun, there are several important points to consider.
1. Glasses should not only reliably protect the eyes of your child, but also cover well the skin around the eyes.
2. Note if the glasses have a special UV protection badge. Ultraviolet type A is indicated by the UVA symbol, and UVB is indicated by the ultraviolet type B. The higher the UVB value on the glasses, the more protection.
3. The UV wavelength of these rays has a range of 290-380 nm. The length of 400 nm is considered the safest, therefore glasses with the UV-400 inscription are recommended for children.
4. It is known that different surfaces have different levels of reflection intensity. Therefore, high-quality glasses have a special marking indicating the level of protection. Therefore, before buying, think about where the child will use them. For example, city, sports, sea, etc.
- "0" - light transmission from 80 to 100%. These are the goggles with the lowest UV protection rating.
- "1", "2" - light transmission, 43-80% and 18-43%. These glasses with partial UV protection are suitable for ordinary urban conditions.
- "3" - light transmission 8-18%. Glasses with this mark are recommended for relaxing on the beach.
- "4" - light transmission 3–8%. Highest level of protection. These glasses can be used for highlands and hot countries.
5. For children's glasses, special polarized lenses are most often recommended. They do not transmit light reflection from shiny surfaces such as glass, water surface, cars, and do not transmit sparkling glare. Glasses with polarized lenses block up to 99% of reflected light, while sunglasses with conventional lenses simply darken those reflections.
When choosing children's sunglasses, it is important to remember that ultraviolet light is more dangerous if a child is wearing a low-quality product. This is due to the fact that in conditions where the intensity of sunlight is high and the baby is not wearing glasses, his eyes naturally react to the excessive brightness of the sun and the size of the pupil decreases. The more intense the light, the smaller the pupil, and this natural reaction of the body reduces the unwanted effects of ultraviolet radiation. Under conditions where a tinted lens is used, the illumination appears to be less bright. Consequently, the pupils dilate, allowing more light to reach the eyes. In the event that the lens is of poor quality, it will not be able to provide the necessary protection from UV rays.
