To protect the child from frequent colds, to strengthen his immunity, as well as to increase the body's resistance to infectious and viral diseases, it is necessary to carry out a set of preventive measures. Water hardening is the most effective and efficient prevention method.
Instructions
Step 1
Start water hardening in summer or early autumn, preferably in the morning. If the weather is sunny and warm, do it outside. Indoors, the air temperature should be within 21-23 degrees.
Step 2
Carry out water hardening in a complex together with other methods - with light-air or sun baths. And also combine hardening treatments in conjunction with exercise and general massage.
Step 3
Add an element of hardening during the usual water procedures for the child (washing, washing, bathing). The hardening procedure can also be carried out while taking a hygienic bath.
Step 4
Choose water hardening methods that are appropriate for your child's age. There are several such methods: general bath, dousing, wet rubdown, contrast shower. If your baby is not 6 months old, bathe your baby daily at a water temperature of 36-37 degrees for five minutes, and then pour water over him with a temperature lower by 1-2 degrees. Gradually reduce the temperature of the water when pouring to 25-26 degrees.
Step 5
For one-year-old babies, douche with water with an initial temperature of 35-37 degrees and then every 4-5 days reduce it by 1 degree, thus bringing it to the mark of 28 degrees. First, pour over the back, then the chest, tummy and, last of all, the arms and legs. For children from 2 to 4 years old, reduce the water temperature to 24-25 degrees, and pour water at 22-23 degrees for children under 7 years old.
Step 6
Starting at the age of 2, place your baby in a cool 2 minute shower, then rub the baby's body well with a towel until redness appears on the skin.
Step 7
Wet rubbing is an important part of water procedures. For this, use a soft terry towel or a special mitten made of a similar material. Rubdowns are shown to children from the age of two months. Gradually reduce the temperature of the water when rubbing down, starting from 35-36 degrees and bringing it to 26-27 degrees.
Step 8
Perform contrast dousing with hot and cold water only if the child tolerates all procedures fairly well. But for preschool children, this method of water hardening is not recommended.
Step 9
When hardening children of any age, adhere to the following basic principles: - start procedures at any age; - carry out hardening activities systematically; - gradually increase the exposure time of the hardening factor; - pay attention to the child's mood, carry out procedures in the form of a game; - never carry out procedures, if the baby is sick or cold, avoid hypothermia; - avoid prolonged exposure to cold water or overheating in the sun, as well as low air temperatures; - participate with the child in hardening procedures.
