It is necessary for the child to love to read, but whether he knows how to do it is not so significant, fixable. First, try to captivate reading, instill a love for him.

Step 1
To make your child fall in love with books, try to captivate him with verbal creativity, language before he learns to read. Play the game "Guess!" For example, like this: "It looks like a piece of cheese - what is it?" (Month); “They look like sparkling sparks” (Snowflakes); "Who is this redhead?" (Squirrel: she is not white, but red!). Coming up with words that are not in the language, comparisons are artistic means used by writers. A child who has mastered them, even before the beginning of independent reading, will feel at home in the world of books.
Step 2
Do not miss the time when the child enthusiastically and persistently strives to get acquainted with everything new: a toy, a book. For kids, buy books with large print, beautiful and realistic illustrations. The perception of plot and verbal skill is closely related to the impression that the pictures that all children love make. If you cannot immediately determine who is depicted in the picture - a dog or a mouse, put this copy aside.
Step 3
Make sure that the books in the house are always available to the child. Equip a special place, a small rack or wardrobe that the kid could use on his own (take out and put books in it) at any time.
Step 4
Even when your child has learned to read on his own, keep reading aloud to him. Reading together with your baby is a creative and exciting process, even if for a moment, returning to the world of your own childhood. While reading, remember an important forgotten business, stop at the “most interesting” place and invite your child to continue on their own. Once freed, ask about what happened next (you are also very interested to know).
Step 5
Make a tradition of reading together at night, on the road, traveling, in line at the children's clinic. Share your thoughts about what you have read with your child, discuss the actions of the characters (why one or the other did this and not another; how it would end if …).
Advise your child to read your favorite book of your childhood, compare your impressions.
Step 6
Go to a bookstore together. Buy a book that your child chooses, even if it's a comic book. Don't force him to read books of your choice or school curriculum.
Step 7
Be the main contagious example for the child - read it yourself.
