Most parents are ready for the fact that with the appearance of a newborn child in the house, they will have to forget about restful sleep. But when the baby grows up, parents increasingly want to relax and retire, at least at night. Teach your child to fall asleep in his own bed, and you will ensure yourself, and most importantly, him, a calm and healthy sleep.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine when your baby should go to bed and follow it diligently. Make a list of procedures to get your baby ready for bed, such as a light massage, bathing, bedtime reading, or a lullaby. They also need to be constantly repeated one after another at the same time.
Step 2
Let the environment be as comfortable as possible to sleep. Cover the window with curtains if it is light outside, and turn on the night light at night. Isolate the room from extraneous sounds. At the same time, it is possible that certain sounds, such as natural noise, soft music or monotonous reading, calm and lull the baby - this can be adopted.
Step 3
Talk to your pediatrician and neurologist on how to sleep better for your baby. Many children quickly get used to falling asleep in a separate bed, and as they get older, they perceive the bed as "their own" place. Of course, at first they may cry loudly and ask for their arms, but if the parents are tender, persistent and caring, then the children will soon be happy to fall asleep in their crib. Other babies need to feel the warmth of their parents in their sleep, otherwise they begin to worry and sleep poorly. In this case, you need to start with a joint sleep and gradually, as they grow older, accustom the child to the crib.
Step 4
Be persistent, considerate, and patient. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, you need to be prepared for them. If you do not take your baby with you to sleep, try to give him more warmth during the day, pamper him, take him in your arms more often so that he feels that you do not love him less. If the baby calms down after crying, sleeps well and soundly, it means that his cry is caused only by an unwillingness to come to terms with the loss of your attention. If sleep is disturbed, it is better to abandon the chosen method and sleep together for some time.
Step 5
If something goes wrong, see your doctor. It is possible that you are doing everything right, but the baby refuses to sleep in the crib, and generally does not fall asleep well - which means that the reason is something else, possibly related to the state of health. Visit a neurologist or pediatrician and have your scheduled examinations.
