Many scriptures testify to the existence of diverse signs in Russia. Concerning almost all areas of human life, superstitions are still present in modern society. Speaking of a solemn event, even not very superstitious people are interested in the traditions and customs associated with it. Such events include the wedding and its well-chosen date.
Undoubtedly, any time of the year has its own merits, and everyone can choose to their liking. However, for a long time the Orthodox Church has proclaimed a number of religious restrictions associated with the choice of the date of marriage:
a) it is not recommended to celebrate the wedding on days such as Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during any time of the year;
b) it is not advisable to play a wedding during multi-day fasts;
c) it is necessary to abstain from weddings during the great church holidays.
As for the choice of a successful month for the wedding, you should refer to the "wedding calendar" of our ancestors.
January is not a prosperous month, to early widowhood.
February is a good month, a sign of agreement between wife and husband.
March - promises the bride's residence on the wrong side.
April - prepares fickle happiness in family life, like the weather this month.
May is not a good month for getting married, for treason in your own home.
June is a great time to get married, promising honeymoon for newlyweds for the rest of their lives.
July will bring both happy and sad times to family life.
August is a wonderful month for celebration, the husband will be a wonderful friend and lover all his life.
September - prophesies a strong union, quiet and calm for life.
October is not a good month, it promises a difficult and difficult life for newlyweds.
November is a month preparing a wealthy and prosperous life for spouses.
December is a perfect month, love will be stronger every year.
As they say, marriages are made in heaven, and although the date of the wedding is not one hundred percent guarantee of a happy life for the spouses, choosing the right time for marriage increases the chances of a successful marriage, at least our ancestors believed in this.
