In its structure, the slime resembles jelly or mucus, which is easily collected in the hand and placed in a small container. When playing with it, sharp and strong throws, it becomes hard, but at the same time elastic, rolling down the wall or sticking to the ceiling. When it is placed in a jar or other container, it becomes liquid and spreads evenly in it. Thanks to such features, modern children, just like their predecessors, are very fond of slimes.

Lizuns not only bring joy and delight to babies, but also develop their abilities and skills. Therefore, playing with them is not only fun and interesting, but also useful. They contribute to the development of fine motor skills of the hands, thereby developing speech and the vestibular apparatus. They also contribute to the physical activity of children.

Slimes are sold in children's stores, but, to the delight of mothers, such a toy is easy to make on your own at home. There are several options for making it using different ingredients. The easiest to manufacture and therefore popular is a slime made from sodium borate (you can buy it at a pharmacy), PVA glue and natural or food coloring. To protect your hands from dirt, you should take care of purchasing gloves in advance. It is worth adding dye to PVA glue to give color to the future toy. After thoroughly mixing this mixture, add sodium borate to it at the rate of 1 bottle of 4% solution per 100 g of glue. The resulting mass must be placed in a bag and mixed thoroughly. After five minutes, the slime will be ready to use.

Another method of making slime involves the presence of baking soda, dishwashing liquid, water and dye. There are no specific dosages here, it all depends on the consistency of the starting materials. First, dishwashing liquid is added to the container, then a few teaspoons of soda. Observing the consistency of the resulting mixture, you need to gradually add water, reaching the properties necessary for lizun.

The dye should be added to the water in advance to dye the toy in a certain color.

You can also make a toy from flour, hot and cold water, and dye. You will need two glasses of flour, which must first be sieved to make the mass homogeneous. First, a quarter cup of warm water is added to the flour, and then the same amount of hot, but not boiling water. This mass is thoroughly mixed so that no lumps remain, then a few drops of dye are added. After mixing all this mass, it is put into the refrigerator for several hours. Make sure the mixture is sticky beforehand. After the mass has cooled down, the slime will be suitable for playing.

If the slime does not work right away, vary the consistency. If it's too sticky, add more water. If it stretches well, but does not stick, an adhesive base is added - glue, flour, etc. depending on the recipe.

There are several rules for caring for a slime, and it doesn't matter if it was bought in a store or made at home on your own. Dust and dirt falling on it can violate the main property of the toy - stickiness. So it's best to keep it in a paper napkin. Also, slime does not like direct sunlight, because it dries quickly under their influence. To revive it, you can try adding a few drops of water. In general, slimes are not intended for outdoor play, they are more home entertainment. It is better to store it in a cool place, and some types of slimes - in the refrigerator. If the toy has completely ceased to fulfill its functions, you can make a new slime together with the child.
