To begin with, it is worth teaching the child numbers within ten. To do this, you need to purchase a special book, where these numbers are presented in various forms that may interest your child (for example, "ten" in the form of a snail). Thus, you can interest the child and cause him to associate a number and an object, which will help him remember.
Step 2
After that, you need to take two identical objects (for example, apples), and in a playful way explain to the child that “there was one apple, put another one, it turned out two”. Again in a playful way, move in this way until the child can combine the number and the number (for example, until he counts seven apples lying in front of him).
Step 3
After that, it will be easy to teach the child to add: we either invent or take from the book all sorts of fabulous problems, preferably various, and ask the child to solve them. It is after passing all the stages of combining the concepts of "number / quantity" that the child will be able to independently add numbers within those that he knows.
Step 4
Attention should be paid to the following things: the child must be interested in learning, so it is worthwhile to carry out the process in a playful way and apply “fabulous” tasks. And it is also worth teaching the baby not only addition, but also subtraction (at the same time), then both processes will be simplified and more understandable for him. You do not need to immediately give your child a big load, he must learn everything gradually.

The bottom line is this: to teach a child to add, you need to understand that he is a child and present information in the form he needs. You should not demand from the kid a great manifestation of mathematical abilities, let him master at least a little knowledge. Indeed, in the future he will go to school, and already there experienced teachers can teach him. In the meantime, you just need to "play numbers" with your child, gradually teaching him.
