Large-scale feasts

Family dinners are, of course, a tradition in many countries. However, in Russia, large-scale feasts for any reason are required. It so happened that the festive dinner completely falls on the shoulders of the woman. In this case, we are talking not only about the desire to feed the guests deliciously, but also to surprise them. Moreover, the Russian hostess can cook several salads and a couple of hot dishes even if the holiday is celebrated in a narrow circle of the family. A table bursting with food is a symbol of abundance and prosperity for a Russian woman. If you happen to visit a Russian hostess, it is unlikely that a small cup of coffee will cost you. Surely you will be offered a hearty, homemade meal, regardless of the time of day.

In full dress

On trips to most Western countries, it is striking how simple the local women dress in everyday life. An American or French woman, of course, can come to an important event with a beautiful hairstyle and a cocktail dress, but on ordinary days, simple, comfortable clothes in dark shades are preferred. This is unacceptable for a Russian lady. Bright makeup, styling, high-heeled shoes, a tight skirt - a Russian woman in this form can be seen anywhere - from a supermarket to a playground. If a Russian came to work without makeup, most likely she will hear a lot of questions from her colleagues about her well-being. That is why tourists from other countries are always amazed at the beauty of Russian women.

Homemade preparations

On store shelves nowadays you can find a huge assortment of canned vegetables, pickled mushrooms and other pickles. However, for a Russian hostess, putting store preserves on the table is a real bad manners, since their own, natural, prepared according to "grandmother's recipes" is appreciated.

This situation is partly explained by the fact that in most of the territory of Russia the season of fresh vegetables and fruits is very small. Therefore, in the summer and autumn months, Russian women actively make all kinds of twists and make jam. The unique recipe for homemade preparations is often kept secret, because putting something branded on the table is another reason to impress guests.

Take it all on yourself

The average Russian woman works full-time, takes care of children and completely manages the entire household: this state of affairs has been forming for decades. At the same time, a man may not take any part, for example, in cooking dinner or cleaning an apartment, and for a Russian this is the norm. Sometimes this happens because a man works longer and, accordingly, earns more. However, even without this reservation, a Russian woman is ready to take everything upon herself. The same applies to responsibility: it is the woman in the Russian family who makes the key decisions regarding finances, children, real estate, and travel.

Family as the main goal

A woman without a husband and children in our country rarely remains aloof from public opinion. She can be pitied, condemned and even ridiculed. To admit the idea that a woman can be happy alone and realize herself in other things is extremely difficult in Slavic culture. However, this state of affairs was quite justified. A Russian woman may want to get married not just strongly, but frantically. Internet forums and comments on social networks can impress the unprepared reader with the severity of the situation. Russian women, unfortunately, are ready to start a family just for the very fact of marriage, especially if she is already over 30. The same applies to children: a woman without offspring is often considered inferior, and pressure from close relatives can go beyond reasonable limits.

Homemade food on the road

A long journey is extremely difficult to endure without food. Of course, on trains and planes, the carrier takes care of food for passengers in advance, but for most Russian women this does not matter: they take food with them. Moreover, a sandwich or fruit is extremely rare. Russian women, especially when traveling with children, bring a bunch of homemade food with them. Chicken in foil, boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, pies - this is already anecdotal classics. Often, Russian housewives go even further, taking porridge or soups in thermoses with them. This can be seen not only on trains, but also on airplanes. When the limited space of the vehicle is filled with appropriate smells (not always fresh due to the lack of a refrigerator), other passengers have a hard time. But Russian women do not care about this, because the main thing is a well-fed and contented family.

Taking care of grandchildren - first of all

Russian grandmothers are the best in the world! The tradition of elderly Russian women to take care of their grandchildren, pushing everything else into the background, has also developed historically and is due to many factors. The average European, Chinese, or retired American woman truly rests: she discovers new hobbies, goes to the gym and with her friends in a cafe. If on a tourist trip you see a crowd of elderly ladies in shorts, they are definitely not Russians. Most grandmothers in Russia prioritize grandchildren. This is due to the fact that young parents very rarely can afford a nanny, and generally do not trust strangers. That is why the grandmother becomes the most irreplaceable assistant in raising children, ready to give up all her affairs for the sake of the kids.
