How to properly formulate a children's diet depends on the characteristics of each baby: some parents begin to introduce complementary foods almost from birth, others feed only mother's milk for up to a year.

Instructions

Step 1

Pediatricians believe that fish should be given to a child from 8 months. It is at this age that the child's body needs those substances that it contains. Despite the great benefits, this product should be introduced into the diet with caution, because it is considered an allergen. Therefore, children with allergies can be given fish later. Although each organism is special, and what kind of reaction it will give to one or another food cannot be said.

Step 2

It is worth starting with low-fat marine fish: cod, hake, pike perch, etc. Depending on the preferences of the parents, you can give ready-made canned purees - in this case, you need to stop your choice on proven brands, or you can cook everything yourself. To do this, you should take fresh fish, preferably fillet, because it does not contain bones, because if they get into the child, a number of complications may arise. If the fish is frozen, then you must first defrost it in salted water - this way more vitamins will be preserved. The fish can be boiled or steamed and then chopped in a blender or fork.

Step 3

For the first time, a child should not be offered more than a teaspoon, even if he liked the new taste and asks for more. When introducing fish into the diet, it is not necessary to try new products, because in the event of an allergy in a baby, then it will be difficult to determine what exactly. If there is no reaction, then up to a year you can increase one portion to 50 g, and after a year - up to 100 g. To provide the child with all the necessary substances, it is enough to give fish instead of meat 2-3 times a week.

Step 4

You can make different fish dishes - casseroles, cutlets, stew with vegetables, etc. The main thing is that the resulting product is low-fat and without spices. After a year, you can try red fish varieties: trout, salmon, pink salmon, etc.

Step 5

If the baby has a reaction after the fish, it is worth temporarily excluding it from the diet. You can return to it in a couple of weeks, and if allergies arise again, then after a while try another variety. If you try to "accustom" your baby to fish too actively, you can cause an acute allergic reaction that will last for life.
