Step 1
The Internet has long become an integral part of the life of a modern person. More and more often, you can hear from others: “I don’t know, I’ll look on the Internet” or “Send it to me on the Internet”. Therefore, your baby will sooner or later ask what this mysterious word means.

This question is not the easiest to explain. It is impossible to fully reveal to the child all the possibilities and functions of the Internet at one time, so it is better to divide it into several stages. First of all, tell your kid about how the Internet works, for example, give only the information search function (the system of online games, purchases, etc. should not be touched upon yet). Visual aids will come to your aid. After all, even the most complex information is much easier for children to perceive, based on images.

Sketch the computers on the poster that look like your home PC. Place them in the corners. Use vibrant colors. They, unlike dark ones, attract the eyes of a child.

Next, in the center, draw a few more computers of a larger size and a different color.

Now proceed with the explanation itself. Tell your child that when, for example, you need to know what the weather will be like tomorrow, what movie is on in your favorite cinema tomorrow, then you are using the Internet. Point to one of the outermost computers on the poster, labeling it as yours. You can draw a little man next to him.

When you ask a search engine a question you are interested in, it goes to the server. A server is a computer that has more power, memory, and speed than your home computer. Draw the arrow on the poster from your computer to the large computer in the center. Please note that there is not one server, but a lot of them. Draw arrows to the rest of the computers in the center.

The child will ask you exactly how the computer communicates with the server. Bring it to your PC and show the network wire, explaining that the connection is made with this cable. Don't tell your baby about the wireless Wi-Fi connection right away. Leave this information for next time, otherwise the child will get confused in the abundance of new information.
Step 8
Tell the kid that other people (cite your many acquaintances as an example - children do not have so well developed abstract thinking, so it is better to concretize) are also asking questions to the servers. Use arrows to connect other "home" computers with images of servers.
Step 9
Many lines will appear on your poster, ask your child what it looks like. Most likely, he will answer either "web" or "web". Tell him that he is absolutely right, and the Internet is often called the global network or the world wide web.
