If you decide to sew a cat costume for your baby, it is not at all a fact that you will have to sew absolutely everything. First, get into the closet with children's things - what if there is a black tracksuit for Hercules, a beautiful black jacket for Basilio, a vest for Matroskin, an elegant shirt for Puss in Boots, or a suitable jacket for Leopold? But a few things will have to be sewn without fail - ears on the rim, gloves and a tail.
It is necessary
- Fur for ears, tail and cuffs
- A little pink or gray flannel for the ears
- Narrow headband
- Wide webbing for the belt
- Sintepon
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the circumference of the baby's face. Cut a piece of tape around the circumference, adding to the stitching. Mark the places for the ears. Cut out of the fur two isosceles triangles 10 cm high and 8 cm long at the base Cut two similar triangles out of the fabric.
Step 2
Fold the ear pieces with the right sides and sew the seams, leaving the base unstitched and leaving the centimeter cuts on the side seams. Turn the ear to the right side and fill it with padding polyester. Make the second ear. Sew the ears to the ribbon at the designated places so that the tape passes through the slits on side seams, and the base seam was on the underside of the braid. Sew a strip of fur on the braid so that it covers the junction of the ears with the braid.
Step 3
Cut out a strip of fur for the tail. The strip is 25-30 cm wide if you want a nice thick cat tail. The length of the strip is from 50 cm to 1 meter, depending on the height. Fold the strip in half lengthways with the fur inward. Sew a long seam and one of the short ones. Twist the tail out. Fill it with padding polyester. Sew the ponytail to the belt.
Step 4
Measure the circumference of your wrist. Cut out the cuffs - two rectangular fur strips. Sew them around the edges of the gloves.
